Senior A's Win
Senior 3 representatives could not get started against the Senior A’s, wickets falling very cheaply and the whole side being out for 86. The Senior ; A's closed their innings with eight wickets down for 133. The collapse of Le Feuvre, Sheehan and Webb early in the B’s innings spelled tha end of any hope for revival. Wallbank was going splendidly, batting in stylish fashion. At 18 he was missed by Whi'mp, but two balls later, without any additional score. Burley captured a beautiful ball off his bat. Hewitt (Maungatapere) was very cautious, and spent a long time compiling the best score of 25. J. Drake's bowling kept the potential run-getters from fulfilling their ambitions. He captur-* ed four wickets at a cost of 20 runs.
Senior A's started off with a hopeful 15 by Angelo, who was dismissed with a tricky ball. At this stage the wicket had become badly chopped up and bowlers were having difficulty in gaining a footing, W. Whimp added 13, but it was Weston and J. Drake who opened the fireworks properly. Their scores of 26 and 44 respectively would have been greater had the outfield not been so sticky and holding. Scores were; —
