Portland Disputes Win
Lovalts' win over Portland was mainly due to the bowling and batting of the hurricane bat and ball swinger, Cunis. He captured four wickets, and followed this up by scoring 68 runs. His third achievement was the complete shattering of a wicket with a super-hurricane full-tosser. The chips still lie on the Reclamation.
Lovatts’ inclusion of Cunis brought wordy protest from Portland at the conclusion of the game, and it is probable the matter will be taken up with the association at its meeting on January 10, Going out for 102, Portland bowled under progressively worse conditions to allow Lovatts to secure 104 runs for the loss of two wickets.
