Industrial Split Expected
ISpecial to “Northern Advocate ”] AUCKLAND,'This Day.
Repercussions which may divide opinion in the unionist ranks in Auckland is expected to follow the decision of the Auckland District Council of the Federation of Labour in passing a vote of no confidence in the Auckland representative on the National Executive of the Federation, Mr T. Stanley. Some unions are considering the advisability of calling meetings to place the views of their delegates before their members.
The Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants (workshops section) meets on Monday evening, and it is hinted that there is a possibility of the branch lining up on, the side of Mr Stanley, who emphatically denies the charge that he opposed the action of the National Executive, of the Federation in recommending the men at Otahuhu to resume, work during the recent strike pending an investigation of their grievances.
