Gala Day At Kamo School

Kamo School children were fortun-j ate on Thursday to have beautiful weather for their sports and prizegiving function. A large gathering of parents and friends was present. Mr W. Markwick. chairman of the school committee, welcomed all present, and thanked those who had helped, to organise the function. Mr M. Mclnnes, chairman of the Kamo Town Board, thanked the committee for the invitation to be present, and congratulated them on their efforts. Mr J. G. Barclay, M.P.. then addi’essed the children and Mrs Barclay distributed prizes. The children’s items comprised drill, folk dancing, dialogues, and a very pretty nursery item by the primers, all reflecting great credit on the headmaster, Mr C. Tills, and his staff. There was 'a heavily-laden Christmas tree with a present for each child, handed to them by Mrs Mclnnes. A .sports programme in which every child took part was held. Distribution of bags of sweets, ice blocks, and a sumptuous afternoon tea brought a very happy afternoon to a close.
