Matches against outside teams were considered at a meeting of the Whangarei Rugby Union last night when it was decided to suggest to the Fonsonby (Auckland) fourth grade learn that this team plays in Whangaroi on Saturday, September 17. the same day as d is suggested that file Ponsonby primary school team will be playing Whangaroi. September 3 was set down for the match against the Manukau Rovers junior team, provided that this date is suitable to the Rovers (Auckland).

A request for a game received from the Eden (Auckland) fourth grade could not be acceded to, as there will not be an available date this season. Hikurangi juniors were granted permission to travel to Maungaturcto to play a team there on Saturday, September 3. Mr R. Cummings will again be manager and Calder captain of the third grade representatives which will play Otamatea for the Powell Shield. This team assembles at Kensington at 12.45. The union is to entertain the Otamatea primary school team and members of the Whangarei team who will be coming from a distance at lunch on Saturday prior to the Cadbury-Fry-Hudson Shield match. The Whangarei primary school representatives are. to assemble at 10 a.m. at Kensington on Saturday for practice. On account of it being a deciding match in the junior grade, the Onerahi-Waikiekie game will be played at Whangarei.
