Children’s Party At Kauri

A very pleasant party was held in the Kauri Hall organised by Miss Marie Keen for the school children. Games were played and each child was presented with a book. Owing to the inclement weather several children were uhable to be present and the items to be performed were cancelled. During the evening, Mr W. J. Bell, chairman of the school committee. presented Miss Keen with a crystal pin tray and powder bowl. Replying. Miss Keen thanked Mr Bell, referring to the splendid work done by the committee while she had been infant mistress. She thanked the committee and the residents of Kauri feif helping to make her stay in the district a pleasant one. Under the able guidance of the M.C.. Mr J. Coxhead. dancing was indulged in. music being supplied by Mrs V. Carter and Miss S. Calkin. Among those present were: Mesdames W. J. Bell. V. Carter, J. Coxhead, W. Carter, R. Butler, A. Drever. Halford, Hildrith, Bruce Jones, J. Peat, P. Stanton. Trotter, Stanton, S. Taylor, N. Ellis, Gillibrand, W. Kenny (Rotorua), M. Rickard, F. Galpin, and Misses E. Bell, R, Coxhead, E. Carter, J.' Drever, E. Harris, S. Jones, Hildrith, P., Stanton, M. Keen, M..Biggar. R. Biggar. M. Carter. S. Graham. Personal, Mr W. Simpson has returned to Onghunga after spending part of his annual leave with his parents, Mr and Mrs W. F. Simpson, Mr and Mrs W. Kenny and their small son*; Russell, are staying with Mrs Kenny’s parents, Mr and Mrs W. F. Simpson. ■ Miss Thelma Coxhead is spending a few weeks with her grandmother at, Manurewa.
