Lean- * | der, at present visiting Russell, i a made merry on the Russell ' I Wharf last night, and jettisoned ■ [ all movable goods, merchandise ■ j and gear within reach into the g I harbour. j! ■ g J During the night, a disturbance f < was heard on the wharf, and in- \ 9 3 ■ vestigation disclosed that three a [ seamen were happily engaged in i j dumping everything on the j c wharf into the sea. The objects * a s B of their attentions included to- i | day’s programme of films for the R a local cinema (in three cases), J i 0 B several empty cream cans, vege- t | tables, and anything else reason- g jj ably movable. \ j An attempt was even made to \ i move two large buoys from the \ ! wharf, 1 8• ' S s Several of the ship’s officers J "vere ashore attending a Masonic a J function during the evening, and ! I they were appealed to.
