Edward Rahi Nathan, a Maori, who apoeared in the Dargaville Magistral’s Court on a charge of being found intoxicated while in charge of a motor vehicle, was sentenced to 21 days’ imprisonment. Case at Christchurch. ‘•The time when people who depend for their livelihood on cars could put that fact forward as an excuse is gene,” said Mr E. C. Defendant’s license was cancelled, and he was declared unfit to hold another until June 1, 1939,
Counsel said that Garland depended on his car for his livelihood, and was prepared to take out a prohibition order.
