Procedure In Fencing A Road

Mr H. A. Bagley wrote to the Mangonui County Council this- week requesting that he be permitted to fence across Kakapo Road, in Ahipara Beach township, from his boundary line to a point near Raka Street corner. This would afford the best protection against wandering cattle and permit of. tree-growing. Cr. Berghan said if the residents were all agreeable to the fence, the council would, not object, but they could not give the permission asked; There were some who had objected to the fence. The clerk: Mr Bagley could advertise his intention to fence the road and place a swing gate across. If in 14 days there is no objection he can proceed with the fence.
