National Party At Waiotira

A meeting of the newly-formed branch of the National Party at Wai-kiekie-Waiotira, was held in. the Waiotira Hall on Friday, 25th inst. Heavy showers just before the meeting started kept many members away. NO lady members were present. Mr A. Stephen was in the chair, and Mr E. Gunson was acting-secretary in the absence of the secretary, Mr McSkimming, who .is 1 in Australia. Mr Begg, of Arap'chue addressed the meeting, the subject being the guaranteed price v. compensated price. The address was vei'y interesting and keenly listened to. Mr Begg is chairman of the Dargaville branch of the National Party. A committee meeting was held at the conclusion of Mr Begg’s address, with the object of getting the branch under way. It was decided to include Gunson and R. McSkimming. Mr F. Berridge was appointed to represent Mr McSkimming during the latter’s absence. The enrolling of members was then proceeded with, a,large number joining up.
