Mr Darlow and Miss Darlow, of Birkenhead, Avere the guests of the Headley family during the week-end. Miss L. Ariell has returned from a fortnight in the city. Misses Hazel and Doreen Smith have returned from a week’s holiday at Ngawha Hot Springs, where they greatly enjoyed' the hot pools, and exploring the surroundings with other friends. ■ , * A very jolly dance was held by the Maungaturoto Social Club in the Social Hall on Saturday evening. These dances are being held fortnightly, and the club-members have been working well, making the occasions really enjoyable. On Saturday evening, the Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr Harry Dodds and Miss Uden. Mr ■ Pritchard, as M.C., carried out his duties in his ever-cheerful manner. An appetising supper added to the great success of the evening.
