Chiang Places £2,000,000. Munitions Order

SHANGHAI, January 7,

The Chinese newspapers report that Marshal Chiang Kai-shek has ordered £2,000,000 worth of munitions from abroad, including heavy artillery, and machine-guns, and 100,000 gasmasks, In the last Japanese air raid on Hahkow, 14 people were killed and 21 wounded, including women and children. The raiders also destroyed the hospital. A Berlin message says thiat in reply to a query as to whether Germany was exporting munitions to China through Hong Kong, the Foreign Office spokesman said that Germany was trying to check exportation of arms to China.
