Fewer Cases Of High Treason In Germany Last Year

. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, January 7. The Berlin correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says official statistics show that there were 5650 cases of “high treason” in Germany in the first nine months of 1937, compared with 8950 in the corresponding period of the previous year. Any activity which can he construed as directed against the present regime is included in this category and can lead to the death sentence. The number of those sentenced for “malicious attacks” on the Nazi regime and Nazi leaders deci’eased from 8120 to 7040.
