Jap. Actress And Lover Disappear Near Soviet Border
(Received 2 p.m.). TOKIO. January 7
The Dornoi News Agency says the mysterious disappearance of the popular actress, Yoshido Okada, and her lover, Yokichi Sugimoto, an actor-pro-ducer, near the Soviet border, in Saghalien is likely to become a diplomatic issue.
The couple appear to have crossed the frontier illegally, the reason for Which is not known. The Foreign Office had instructed the Jap ConsulGeneral at Alexandrovsk to ask the Soviet authorities to trace and hand them over.
