Tt .is expected that within the next two or three weeks the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, will receive a report from the special committee of investigation set up in July to report on the future of Rongotai Aerodrome, Wellington, as a terminal for overseas and internal air defences. ¥ T « * TN a special broad jump trial held by the Auckland centre of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association last evening, Miss Edna Munro bettered the New Zealand record on three occasions, her best jump being 18 feet inches. — (P.A.). * # * * 'V'EIL Williams, who was selected to ~ replace M.
