The finalists were brought together by ; playing the first round over a two- i hour period, and each subsequent j match over twenty minutes. : R. Penk, A. Beaten and M. Whitelaw | headed off J. BOWLING TOURNEY. j Heavy entries have been received ; for the 25th annual championship j tournament of the New Zealand Bowlj ing Association, which begins at Dunedin on Monday. ! In the singles. 256 players will par- | ticipate. and 16 greens will be used, j There will be 228 teams in the pairs, j and 19 greens. In the rinks, 124 teams have entered, and 12 greens have been requisitioned. Approximately 550 individual players will take part. Play in the singles j will commence at 9 o’clock. NORTHLAND JUNIOR TENNIS REPS. Northland will be represented by | three players at the junior tennis I championships which will be held at Christchurch, commencing on January 12. The three boys are: Trevor Babe, of Waikiekie, Brian Leech, of Waikiekie, land T. Smith, of Kaikohe. The two Waikiekie boys leave by I the train today, and the other boy I leaves tomorrow.
