During the past five years about 4000 relics have been excavated in different parts of Southland and Canterbury by Mr. J. H. Sorensen, Director of the Southland Museum, Invercargill and his brother, Mr. E. A. Sorensen, Christchurch. Mr. J. Sorensen is at present attending the special course of Instruction being given museum curators at the Dominion Museum and Art Gallery, Wellington, by Mr. Frank Tose, of the Californian Academy of Science.
