No Dictatorship For Rumania
(Received 1 p.in.,> BUCHAREST, January 3. A Government broadcast announces that M. Goga’s new Ministry will strictly respect the Constitution. This is regarded as an indication of the intention not t<> introduce a Fascist dictatorship.
New measures include suppression of four more newspapers, also control of theatres and cinemas to prevent subversive entertainments.
King Carol has gone to the Carpathian Mountains on a hunting trip. An official denial it: given in Berlin to a statement that the Nazi Ambassador to London. Herr von Ribbentrop, will go to Bucharest to see King Carol.
Leaning Towards Italy. The Rome correspondent of "The Times” states that the Prime Minister of Rumania. M. Goga, emphasises the pro-Italian inclination of the new Government in a telegram to Signor Mussolini. In this, he begged II Dnco to accept his assurance of his constant desire to achieve a frank and cordial ItaloRumanian relationship. Signor Mussolini replied reciprocating Rumania’s friendship and saying he was hopeful of the fruitful collaboration of the two countries. A message from Istanbul states that M. Goga cabled to the Turkish Premier, Jelal Bayer, reaffirming Rumania's sympathy with and allegiance to the Balkan Pad.
