U.S. Planes Barred From Flying Over Canada
(Received 10 a.m.)
NEW YORK, December 24
The, Washington correspondent c-f the “Herald-Tribune” says it is learned that Canada is balking the American Government’s plans, for a regular air mail route connecting the United States and Alaska, because Ottawa so far has refused to assent to aeroplanes flying over Canadian territory. This attitude is causing a furore among Interested American officials, whose irritation is increasing because serious dangers in. the Far East have emphasised the military necessity ox maintaining steady communication between the United States and Alaska.
There is a suspicion that certain official quarters in Britain are responsible for the hitch.
