LONDON, December 24
The Paris correspondent of “Tire Times” says there is an inclination to exploit Christmas by sti’ike threats, which are spreading seriously and may make the co-operation of the Radical Socialist members of the Government difficult.
Mobile guards surrounded the Goodrich tyre factory, which is occupied by 2000 workers as a protest against the introduction of the Bedaux system. The guards were eventually withdrawn.
A later Paris message states that 5000 oysters and 350 bottles of champagne were brought to the Christmas strikers at the Goodrich factory.
Transport strikes are spreading and military lorries are still conveying foodstuffs. Deliveries of newspapers are haphazard.
