NORTHLAND TRIBE

jk “Advocate” Office, Water St.. Whangarei, a Tuesday, June 22, 1937. » Hello Everybody— Sniffles and snuffles are all gone from Headquarters this week, and everyone is bright and cheery again. I didn’t have to take any “nice” medicine, either, i Possibly the mere thought of it scared all the cold 1 1 germs away. Come to think of it, that’s a delightful i j way of taking medicine—just think about it. But I doubt very much if it would always be effective. Did you hear the broadcast? Lots of folk did, 1 and Kupe and Mr. Dennehy are as pleased as pleased ' at its success. One school, after hearing it, set about forming a pet lamb club. What fun they’ll have, and won’t parades be lively if their pets learn I to bunt as pet lambs so often do! And calf clubs are to begin next week, and they and sweet pea clubs are to be companions for some time to come. Now, ;ell me—do calves like sweetpeas? They Seem rather fond of most things, so perhaps members j would be wise to see that the two clubs don’t mix, or, —terrible thought—the sweet pea display might have j to be a calf display—if the prize blooms have been swallowed! But you never can tell—. Last year one ‘ calf drank a quantity of engine oil and won a prize! Perhaps sweet peas will prove to he the ideal calf food. - I wonder! Just time for another S.O.S. More recipes, please V Maidens. I’m beginning to feel like Mother Hubbard. Cheerio till next week. Princess, Northland Tribe.
