BRADDOCK IN FINE FORM; LOUIS LOOKS WELL

(Received 10 a.m.) NEW YORK, June-20. The heavyweight boxing champion, James Braddock, took part in four fast rounds against two sparring partners yesterday in a final hard training bout before the contest for the title, to be held on Tuesday. The, speed of the champion’s hands and his footwork .were impressive. His punches were shorter and sharper than in any previous workout. The spectators included the boxers Ross, Escobar and Steele. Punching With Both Hands.
The latter said Braddock was fast and was punching freely and perspiring easily. “I like the short, snappy way he is punching with both hands,
particularly his right,” Steele added. Braddock said: “I am in great shape and feel better than I have done for years. The title bout is just another fight to me. Louis is no better than Others I have faced.” ... A light workout today will complete his training. Louis. . Joe. Louis shadow boxed for a round yesterday, and then had four rounds against two negro sparring partners, who used Braddock’s style. The challenger was in fine physical condition and did not appear worried, but had great difficulty in avoiding his partners punches. At least six times they landed hard rights to his jaw. A message from Berlin states that, following reports that Farr would contest the world title against either Braddock or Louis, the German promoter Rothenburg announced • that he had offered Farr £15,000 to meet Schmellng in Berlin.
