Tritelia’s Fourth Win In Succession
(Received 10 a.m) , MELBOURNE. May 30. The 5-year-old Tritelia, who is engaged in the Grand National Hurdles at Fleinington with 10.3, won his fourth hurdle race in succession when he won the Federal Hurdles at Moonee Valley yesterday. Last year’s Grand National winner,- Santa Casa, won the Commonwealth Steeplechase in brilliant style. Results:— ; Federal Hurdles, of 400 sovs; two miles and half a furlong,—Tritelia, 10.12, 1; Devon Brook, 9.8, 2; Marshland, 3. Eight started. A neck; three lengths. Time—3.s4. Commonwealth Steeplechase,, of 500 sovs. and trophy valued at 25 sovs; about two miles and three and a half furlongs.—Santa Casa, 11.7, 1; Character, 9.13, 2; Montargis, 9.12, 3. Fourteen started. Six lengths; four lengths. Time —4.48 J.
Red Clover Wins Maiden Handicap
* (Received 10 a.m) ./ '■ SYDNEY, May 30. The three-year-old filly. Red Clover, was successful in the Maiden Handicap at the Rosehill Racing Club’s meeting yesterday. Odilion was third in the Granville Stakes. Phrlight was unplaced in the second division of the Juvenile Handicap, and The Raider in the Rosehill Handicap. Silver Coat fell in the Maiden Hurdles. Result: — Maiden Handicap, of 150 sovs; seven furlongs.—Red Clover, 8.3, 1; Tickle, 8.9, 2; Pancake, 7.6, 3. Seventeen started. A length; three-quarters of a length. Time—l. 27.
