TTEAVY fields and a greasy ball did not betoken anything in the way of spectacular Rugby League football on Saturday and so it proved, particularly in the senior grade. b Conditions were too adverse to, permit of that crispness which qan be expected on a dry day and in, the senior grade particularly, the football contained little to write home about. As usual, however, the matches were well contested. Hikurangi and Kensington had a spirited tussle at the mining centre, - the home side succeeding by a try to a penalty goal. At Jubilee Park, Takahiwai beat Whakapara by 9 points to 2 after a game in which Whakapara put up a good go but lacked finish, tsto their movements. Kamo were off the scene with a bye. In a splendid game at Portland City juniors outpointed the cement-city-iies, 14—-10.
