Large Dividends At Waikato Trots

The track was holding for the Waikato Trotting Club’s meeting at Claudelands on Saturday. In spite of the unfavourable conditions, there was a large attendance, and large dividends were a feature. The totalisator handled £20,190 10/-, against £12,207 10/- last May, an increase of £7,983. Gate receipts increased by £ 44. Results: —
Autumn Handicap, of 125 sovs; trotters; two miles.—(l-1) Bronte, 24yds, 1; (6-5) Waskasu, scr, 2; (3-4) Elissa, 12yds, 3. Six others started. Two lengths; four lengths. Time—4.sß. Rukuhia Handicap, of 110 sovs; one mile and a half.—(7-6) Kewpie’s Crest, 36yds. 1; (1-1) Sandusky, scr, 2; (3-2; Sir Frank, 48yds, 3. Eleven others started. Half a length; a length. Time —3.57.
Kaipaki Handicap, of 150 sovs; one mile and a quarter.—(3-4) Kewpie’i King, scr, 1; (1-1) King’s Play, 36yds, 2; (4-5) Ironside, 24yds, 3. Seven ethers started. A neck each way. Time —2.£6 4-5. Visitors’ Handicap (saddle), of 120 sovs; one mile.—(s-7) Kewpie’s Crest, 12yds, 1; (6-5) Great Chum, 24yds, 2; (11-11) Franz Derby, scr, 3. Twelve others started. Half a length; two lengths. Time—2.22.
