The Oamaru Trotting Club’s winter meeting was held on Saturday in sum-mer-like weather before an excellent attendance. The track was dry and last. . In spite of the. very large fields, the starting was good. The totalisator handled £17,982 10/-, made up as follows:—Win machine (75-25), £9,715 10/-; place machine, £8,267; against £8,138 10/- (win), and £5,608 10/- (place) last year, a total of £13,746 10/-, making an increase of £4,236. , Results;— . -

Stewards’ Handicap, of 180 so vs; one mile, and a half.—(l2-10) Reylena, 12yds, 1; (21-21) Agility, scr, 2; (14-12) Wee Wrack, 12yds, 3. Just Shandi and Norma Grattan were scratched. Half a length; a head. Time—3.2l 3-5. The winner paid over a score and the second horse eyen more for a place.

President’s Handicap, of 375 sovs; two miles. —(5-4) Rocks Ahead, 12yds, 1; (2-6), Pot Luck, scr, 2; (7-7) Marie Celeste, scr, 3. All started. Three lengths; four lengths. Time—4.29.
