DISPUTE OVER GOOD FRIDAY PAY
Repercussion Of Freezing Works Trouble
'Per Press Association. Copyright.'] AUCKLAND, This Day.
Repercussions are reported in connection with the recent stay-in strike at Westfield and other Auckland freezing wiorks,. as a result of employees who were not called on for duty on Good Friday being paid at ordinary rates for the holiday and not receiving the 3d per hour bonus, which was agreed upon in the settlement of the recent dispute and should be paid for all time actually worked.
The companies have interpreted this clause strictly in accordance with its wording and at Westfield yesterday a bonus was paid only to those who actually worked on Good Friday. So far, the grievance has not been carried to * official quarters.
