U.S. Labour Leader Condemns Sit-Down Strikes

(Received 10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, March 28. The president of the American Federation of Labour. Mr William Green, expressed the opinion that sit-down strikes are illegal and must be disallowed by thinking men and women. Labour and public opinion are against these strikes and Labour must be supported by public opinion’ Sit-down strikes, in spite of temporary advantages, finally will permanently injure the Labour movement. Mr Green predicts that if they continue State and Federal laws will be, passed to compel the incorporation ot unions and force arbitration on disputes. which would be a severe blow to Labour,
