Facts About N.A. Electric Power Board’s Operations
The following facts about the North Auckland Power Board’s operations were supplied yesterday by the engineer, Mr T. R. Overton: The manufacture of concrete .poles has commenced at Hikurangi, and about 30 have. been made in the last fortnight. A shipment of 1500 poles by the s.s. Gabriella, direct from Australia.! is expected to arrive at Kioreroa shortly. Arrangements have been made for their distribution immedi- i ately on arrival. ; The line between Maungatapere and ■ Whangarei has been pegged, and the surveyors were now working between Whangarei and Hikurangi. Good progress was being made with the construction of the sub-sta-tion at Maungatapere. Canvassing for the formation of groups is proceeding, the first group for wiring and installation of appliances being that between Maungatapere and Maunu Road. House and farm connections were being installed rapidly between Maungoturoto and Dax^gaville. The number of consumers at present exceeded 500.
