Fatality at Military Camp
iSpectat to "Northern Advocate.’ ! ROTORUA, This Day. v Farrier Sergeant’S. R. Hargreaves, aged 24, attached to Field Battery. New Zealand Royal Artillery, was killed at the Arawa Park Camp * / yesterday afternoon when the Wheels of a waggon passed over his head. The waggon was horse-drawn and one shied and with the other bolted. Sergeant Hargreaves was endeavoury ing to harness the horses, but they were in a difficult mood. The horse Sergeant Hargreaves was riding reared and threw him back toi wards the waggon. The horses bolted, /•but, for a time, Hargreaves ~ clung to '[the pole bar. He then lost his grip l and the wheels passed over his head. Death'Was thought to be instantaneous. ft Sergeant Hargreaves was due to return to Auckland on Saturday after completing his training.
