WATER DEEP AT HIKURANGI

Except for private parties working on the Waro Hills, mining is at a standstill at Hikurangi today. Many chains of the pipeline, over a mile long, coming from the hills at the back: of the factory, were carried away, and no work could be done at the factory yesterday. An expenditure of some hundreds of pounds will be to repair the damage. One of the dams of the Hikurangi tovkfh supply was also carried away, but .'the two main dams withstood the pressure, and the service continued without interruption. Today, arrangements were made to link the Dairy Company with the town supply.
