A BALL OF SILVER

PHENOMENON SEEN AT HOUTO A tremendous silver ball, flashing to earth from the direction of the sun was seen by Mrs Drake, of Houto, this morning. At the time, 10.45 a.m., the sun was obscured by a dark cloud, and Mrs Drake was able to see clearly what she described as a very beautiful sight. The ball fell in a south-westerly direction, and was apparently quite close to Houto. Behind it streaked a brilliant red flash, which seemed to extend, Mrs Drake said, from the sun. The phenomenon was over in a few seconds, but it left a vivid impression.
