WOOL SALES IN AUSTRALIA
Melbourne.—At the opening of the Geelong wool sales today there was particularly strong competition, the crossbred section showing an advance on the last sale. Merino wool sold at 25Jd, and crossbred at 24d. Beth are Australian records for this season, and the merino price is an Australian record for the present season.
Brisbane.—At the Brisbane wool sales today there was a buoyant market. Japan and Germany were the principal operators. Satisfactory clearances were made. Top prices were: Greasy. 213 d; scoured, 29£d.
