WHANGAREI LADIES' CLUB TREMBATH CUP FINAL TOURNAMENT THIS WEEK The final of the Trembath Cup was played at Mt. Denby yesterday, Miss J. Stewart beating Miss A. Higginson 2 and 1. , , , • The result of the first club handicap was; —Miss D. Steele, 98 18 80; Mrs. Lynch, 105—23—82; Mrs. Reynolds. 92—9—83; Miss J. Stewart, 99—16—83. Visitors for Tournament. The following players have entered for the North Auckland Open Amateur championship tournament to be played at Mt. Denby this week;—Okaihau club, Mrs. C. W. Thomas, the titleholder; Middlemore, Mrs. J. M. Wilson, Mrs. R. A. Barstovir, Miss M. Souhy, Mrs. Rainger, Miss K. Souhy, Mrs. C. H. Ring; Titirangi, Miss L. Williamson; North Shore, Mrs. Badley and Mrs. Hogan; Warkworth, Miss M. Hebben Mrs. E. Mclntyre, Mrs. A. V. Fleete, Miss N. Cook; Dargaville, Miss Bryers;. Kaikohe, Mrs. C. Bassett; Ruawai, Mrs. G. Foote; Wellsford, Miss Nobilo; Whau Valley, Mrs. A. Martin, Mrs. McLeod, Mrs. Walker, Mrs. E. Going, Mrs. Seed, Miss I. Killen. Mrs. J. Glanville, the local champion, will be unable to take part in the tournament, but Mrs. F. Reynolds, the runner-up, will be competing. WHAU VALLEY CLUB FOUR-BALL BEST-BALL In a four-ball best-ball played at the. Whau Valley links, Moffat and Dunning won 2 up. . WHANGAREI CLUB. CAPTAIN’S TROPHY. At Mt. Denby, the second and final round of the captain’s trophy was played. Best scores were D. J. Thomson 2 down, Sheen 4 down, Buckley 6 down. These three players are'now even on the two rounds, and a playoff will be necessary. PAPAROA~RESULTS j The first roundl for the Captain's Prize, played by the ladies of the Paparoa Golf Club during the week-end resulted:—Mrs. Cornish beat Miss M. Sutherland, 7 and 5; Mrs. E. G. Aickin beat Mips Bryers, 2 and 1; Miss Cornish won by default from Mrs. Reed. The results of the first round Of the men’s competition for the President’s Trophy were:—Bell beat Cornish, 7 and 5; Padget beat Reed at the 19th; Foster beat Dodds, 7 and 5; Fenwick beat Gaughan, 3 and 1; E. G. Aickin beat Casey, 2 and 1; Pasley beat Whftjnore, 5 and 4; Rishworth beat T. C. Aickin, 5 and 4; Stratford beat Metcalfe, 4 and 3; O’Shea beat Christie, 6 and 5. . •
