STEEL INDUSTRY EXPANSION
MELBOURNE. August 12. Although there is no official confirmation. it is freely rumoured in Melbourne that negotiations are in train by Broken Hill Proprietary, Ltd., to acquire a large ordinary share interest in Australian Iron and Steel, Ltd.. whose works are at Port Kembla. New South Wales.
