Remarkable cures by methods akin to faith healing, are claimed to have been effected in Taranaki by the Maori prophet Huia Tahi, of Ngaruawahia. who has toured the province, and had ailing Maoris, flocking to him.. ._lt is reported that Huia Tahi has induced an old and crippled Maori named Taora to walk; has restored to health a baby whose parents -believed it dead; and has enabled a girl of about 20 years to move her right arm and fingers, which had been completely paralysed since she was four years did. Huia Tahi is said to rely entirely on prayers and the patients frame of mind for his- results.
