A team of a dozen | Whau Valley players visited the Mount 1 Denby links, while a Whangarei Club j side visited ..Whau Valley. The "result ] was a win for the Whangarei Club on 1 the day. Results at Mount Denby ( Whau Valley names first) were: Sheriff lost to Bailey; Hargrave lost to Buckley; Dennis lost to Gillespie: Chalmers lost to Gray; Walker lost to Doreen; Crawford beat Jack; Dunning lost to Conaghan; Henrickson lost to Christiansen; Wilspn lost to Weston; Martin beat Gilligan; McLeod beat Fulton. . Sheriff and Hargrave lost to Bailey and Buckley; Dennis and Chalmers beat Gillespie and Gray; Walker and Crawford lost to Jack and Doreen; Dunning and Henrickson lost to Conaghan and Christiansen; Wilson and Moffatt lost to Weston and Surman; Martin and McLeod beat Gilligan and Fulton. The Whangarei Club team which visited Whau Valley recorded a win. Results (Wh'au Valley names first) were:— Four ball: Frazerhurst and Hughes beat Birnie and Johnson; Gellert and Wallis lost to Lynch and Dyer; - Kofi’ n and Tucker lost to Clarke 1 and Waddell. Singles: Frazerhurst lost to Birnie; Hughes lost to Morton; Kissin lost to Lynch; Wallis and Dyer finished all square; Kokich beat Clarke; Tucker beat Waddell. POWELL CUP. The first round of the Whau Valley Club’s Powell Cup competition was played on Saturday. Results;—' Kokich beat Mcßae; Dunning beat Frazerhurst; Chalmers beat Tucker; Birchall beat Hargrave; Martin beat Waymouth. WHANGAREI CLUB. The first round of the Captain’s trophy, over two rounds of bogey, was played at the Mt. Denby links on Saturday. Results:— Dr. Buckley, with one down, returned the best card. Others were: Sheen 3 down; C. Doreen 3 down; W. J. On 5 down; D. J. Thomson 5 down; R. H. Harrison 6 down; R. Gray 6 down. WHAU VALLEY LADIES. Results of the first round of the Wakelin Cup, played by members of the Whau Valley Ladies’ Golf Club last week, are: — , Miss Phillips (29) beat Miss B.
