DOCTOR RESIGNS

WHANGAREI DISTRICT HOSPITAL. DUE TO ILL-HEALTH. APPOINTED LAST MAY. Dr. M. Wells, assistant medical superintendent at the Whangarei District Hospital, has resigned his position and has left Whangarei. Dr. J. W. Hall, medical superintendent, stated this morning that Dr. Wells’ resignation was due to ill-health. Dr. Wells, who is a graduate of Otago University, has had English and New Zealand experience, and was appointed to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Dr. P. C. Brunette, who was appointed medical superintendent of Ihe Nelson Hospital. Dr. Wells’ appointment was only confirmed at the May meeting of the Hospital Board.

A meeting of the house committee of the board was held this morning, when it was decided to call for applications for the filling of the vacancy immediately.
