WHANGAREI BUTTER OUTPUT

COMPANY’S SUCCESSFUL SEASON BIG INCREASE SHOWN. VERY SOUND POSITION. The output from the Whangarei Dairy Company, Limited’s, factory during the past season was nearly 3000 tons, and represented a substantial increase over the previous season’s figures. , The exact figure was 2,970 tons 16 cwt Iqf 141bs, and the increase was 227 tons 11, cwt 31bs. The annual report states that, while unfavourable weather prevailed during the early part of the season, conditions during the balance of the period were highly favourable to production. The average grade was 93.287 points. The directors consider the company’s affairs to be in a very sound position, and express appreciation of the past co-operation of suppliers in maintaining the high standard of quality. * A surplus of £34,300 4/11 has resulted on the year’s working, and the directors recommend that the sum be absorbed as follows:—Dividend of 21 per cent, on eligible share capital, £423 7/-; deferred payment on eligible butterfat supplied as follows: July and August, 1934, IJd per lb; June, 1935, 3d per lb; September, 1934, tq May, 1935 inclusive, lid per lb, making a total of £33,620 6/11; balance carried forward, £256 11/-.

The directors who retire by rotation are Messrs T. J. Griffin and E. S. Tremaine, who both re-offer their services The number of suppliers was 998, compared with 990 the previous season.
