The death has occurred of Mrs Maria Maude Cockayne, widow of the late Dr. Leonard Cockayne, C.M.G., the distinguised New Zealand botanist, who died recently. Mrs Cockayne, before her marriage was Miss Maria Blakeley, of Harcourt, Victoria. She loaves one son, Mr Alfred H. Cockayne, assistant director of agriculture.
