KAMO DAIRY SALE. PIG PRICES RISE. Walter Wakelin reports having held a dairy sale, at Kamo on Wednesday last. The advertised number of cattle came forward, and only the best quality cattle claimed any interest from buyers. Dairy cattle generally were dull of sale. A yarding of 180 pigs came forward and made excellent prices, one pen of store pigs realising £2 0/3, while a pen of medium weaners sold for £1 0/3. Quotations: — Best dairy cows and heifers, £3 to £4; medium cows and heifers, £2 to £3; backward cattle, £1 to £2; Shorthorn dairy cows, £2 to £4; cows and heifers in milk, £1 to £3 12/6; yearling Jersey heifers, 12/- to £1 2/-; 18month Jersey heifers, 15/- to £1 6/-. Pigs.—Porkers, £2 2/- to £2 6/-; large stores, £1 18/3 to £2 0/3; medium stores, £1 11/- to £1 15/-; good slips, to £1 7/6; best weaners, 18/- to £1 0/3; medium and small weaners, 14/- to 17/-; breeding sows, £3 10/-. A quantity of building timber was also sold at satisfactory prices.
