„ MANGAKAHIA CLUB.
The annual meeting of the Parakao Tennis Club was held on Tuesday night. Mr F, Grantham presided over a good attendance. The report and balance sheet, disclosing a deficit of approximately £ 17, was adopted. During the past season two new hard courts were laid down, a new fence enclosing them was erected, and a spacious pavilion built.
The election of officers for the new season resulted:—Patron, Mr W. Alison; president, Mr Grantham; vice-presi-dent, Mr K. Hayr; secretary, Mr A. Pollock; captain, Mr F‘. Platt; vicecaptain, Mr J. Alison; committee, Messrs. W. Wilson, F. Platt, C. Davidson, R. Pollock, P. Birch; delegate to North Auckland Tennis Association, Mr K. Hayr; selection committee, Messrs. F. Platt, J. Alison, C. Davidson. It was agreed to operate the ladder during the coming season. It was also decided to eliminate star matches and to present the stars as prizes to the winners of a combined knockout competition. Rules governing the competition were left for the committee to deal with. A working bee is to be organised before the opening.
