GEOUNDS TOO WET. MEETING OF COM .M ITT FF. All matches in the Whangarei Hockey Association’s competitions wore abandoned today owing to the bad weather conditions. A meeting of the committee of the association Avas held last night, when notification was received that the Country Week tournament Avould com menco on June IS, and continue until June 23. An application Avas received fro'/ the Movers Club to change the name or the club to Bargain Store, and thb was granted. OAVing to the absence of any nominations, there will be no ladies’ Saturday competition this season. To ease the expense of (ravelling, it was decided that when the Onerahi and Hikurangi clubs play against each other, the matches be played in Whangarei. A letter "was sent to the High School authorities thanking them for the use of the school grounds during the time the association’s own grounds at Kensington Park were unavailable. Owing to the fact that the Onerahi ■Club, a new eombluatlou, was finding difficulty in payibg the 30/- affiliation fee, the association decided to make a donation of 10/6 to the club.
