VENDORS MEET MARKET. (Special to “Northern advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. Reporting on the annual sheep fair conducted at Tuakau yesterday, Messrs. Alfred Bucldand & Sons, state that fully 15,000 sheep were offered. Prices were slightly lower than generally expected, but there was a good clearance,' and very few of the vendors failed to meet the market. Values for ewes were well up to recent sales, and were over 100 per cent, better than at the same time last year. Best two-toothed ewes made 30/-; best four and six-toothed 26/9; smaller, 18/- to old, 10/6 to 15/-; best four and five-year-old, 24/-; small two-toothed ewes, 23/- to 28/-; smaller, 19/- to 22/-; fat wethers, up to 26/-; store wethers, 18/6 to 23/-. The lamb pens were well filled, and a total clearance was effected. Fullconditioned and light fat lambs brought from 14/ 7 to 16/3; good store lambs, 12/6 to 13/6; smaller store lambs, 9/9 to 11/-; cull lambs, 7/6 to 9/-. The offering of rams was representative of all breeds. Romneys and Leicesters were not in request, and very few were sold. Southdowns were in good demand. There was a total clearance. Two-toothed Southdowns sold from 4 guineas to 51 guineas; four-toothed and older, 2 guineas to 35 guineas; Romney rams,

two-toothed, made 2 guineas to 5 guineas; potters, 7/6 to 15/- for extra heavy. PRICES SHOW EASING TENDENCY. There Avas a large yarding of all classes of sheep at the Waipn Sheep Fair conducted by the N.A. Farmers’ Co-op., Ltd., yesterday. All lots changed hands, but prices Avere not up to the usual run of sales. Lambs and oavcs in particular shoAved an casing tendency. sheep for this sale was above the average. Competition was keen on good quality wethers and young ewes, but all other classes were below late rates. Lapibs sold up to recent ruling rates. There was an average attendance.
