The Tanrlknra hall was well filled witli dancers on Wednesday evening', when the Whaugarei Hoads Women’s Institute hold a dance and, 000 evening. Willi Airs Bayliss at the piano,, the dances went Avith a merry SAving, and the bounteous supper pro Added by the lady members was greatly appreciated.

Kerr, of AlcLcod’s Bay. Air and Airs E. Camming arc gueste of Air and Airs G. LoA'y, at Whangarei Hoads. Mr Onmining has lately been appointed an assistant master at the, Whangarei Junior High School, and commences his new duties AA'ith the reopening of the school. Airs O’Shea- and family,, and Miss Toy of Auckland, are enjoying a- holiday at Airs W. Irving’s, AleLeod’s Bay. Airs .1. Eanrenson is spending a holiday at, Tinopai. Airs D. Alcßne lias left for a holiday in Waiukn. Tenuis. The Alanaia Tennis Club travelled,to Waikaraka on Wednesday, 10th inst., to play a friendly match with the local ( club there, and returned victorious by I 15 sets to 10. All members of the ; visiting team spoke very highly of the hospitality extended to them, and all 1 thoroughly enjoyed the day. <
