SUPERANNUITANTS MEET
NORTHLAND BRANCH FORMED, VISIT OP DOMINION HEAD. At a well-attended'mooting'■ held in Whangarei last week, it was decided to form a North Auckland ■branch of the Superannuated Public. Servants ’ Association,- - - • •• v■ • '
The meeting was addressed by - the Dominion president, Air. Wright, of Wellington. There is'Tittle* Mr "Wright does not know about.-the subject, as, prior' to his retirement,. he was , secre" tary of the Superannuation ‘Board.
The association was formed .13 years ago, but at first was largely confined to the main centres. During the pas : t tAvelyc'months the active work of tho association has -been extended, and branches have been formed in many places.
Mr Wright outlined reasons' why a local branch should exist, for the advancement of social intercourse and other- interests vitally ''concerning re tired- officers.
It -was* unanimously decided to form a Norths Auckland - branch,'-with’ head-quarters-at Whangaroi. The following wore - appointed " to -the executive:— •Messrs B,A. WpjflV(chairman), A, M. Rest (secretary),-T,. do- Norville/G. H. Monish - and R. -Menzies - (the latte: subject -tb liis-ednsent). ■ One of the first undertakings will be to obtain a list of all suporanhnitapts,in North Auckland.■ The executive has power to add to its number. •
