SERVICES OP MB. ROSS (Special to "Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. Recognition of the long service of Mr. A. A. Ross with the Farmers’ Union was made at the meeting of the executive of the Auckland branch yesterday.
Mr. Ross, on retiring last year, had served as president, in various terms, for no less than 14 years.
In making Mr. Ross a presentation of a Dominion life member’s badge and a copy of the Encyclopaedia Britannica, the present president, Mr, H. 0. Mellsop, said that no other man had done so much for the union.
Mr, Ross expressed his appreciation of the executive’s action. His work, he said, had gvien him a fuller life, many pleasant memories, and life-long and loyal friends.
