HASTINGS, This Day. The tracks yesterday morning were good, and should there be no rain in the meantime, the going will be excellent for the Hawke’s Bay Hunt Club’s meeting on Saturday. Kimbo was too good for Kaokaoroa in once round on the grass in 1.52. Slippery finished in front of Huntingdon over four furlongs in 521 see. Fondle showed to advantage over five I furlongs on the grass in. LG. Princess Bell and Dusky Crown accompanied her Gold Mag, with Princess Elizabeth giving him a lead, jumped two fences well.
Tahoma, by himself, did a light task over three fences. Royal Bengal was under a pull to keep alongside Little Wonder over five furlongs in 1.6. Gold Trail and Ealphyllis galloped four furlongs in 52sec. Asterisca, wide out, did five furlongs well in 1.5 3-5. Luna Lux finished in front of Gold Euler over six furlongs on the grass in 1.23. Coonoor did a round of the steeplechase country well. Konaki went with him, but ran off. Hunting Star had the measure of Hybiseus over five furlongs on the grass in 1.5.
Maine and Sir Nigel did strong work over the same distance. ON ELLERSLIE TRACKS. WORK ON THE SAND. (Special to "Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. ' There was no fast track available at Ellerslie this morning owing to the recent heavy rain, the bulk of the work being done on the sand, on which Aeervate and Omeo won't together over 7 furlongs in Loo. Both hit out very freely and are in excellent order for their engagements tomorrow. Other horses to do useful work were: Prince of Orange, Wiltshire, Gay Cockade, King March, Gay Marigold, Cargen, Lucess, Neil, Sunny Sky, United, Gay Broney, Mahkilly, My Money and Valroe.

PAST SEASON REVIEWED. GOOD CREDIT BALANCE. (Special to "Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. After showing a loss for the seasons 1930-31 and .1931-32, the Auckland Troting Club for the season just closed reveals a credit balance of £83(1, which the president, Mr J. Rowe, in his report to be presented at the annual meeting of members to be held on Wednesday next, considers most satisfactory in view of the present financial difficulties The happy result of this season is considered to be due in a great measure to the popularity of the win-aml-placo system of betting. During the season the club distributed £12,890 in stake money and paid to the Government in taxation £20,413, made up of totalisator tax £9,008, dividend duty £10,189, stakes tax £O4O. amusements tax £393, and land tax £123. In local rates and taxes the club paid £799, The revenue side of the balance sheet shows the club received £5,991 from gates and stands, £3,*03 from nominations and acceptances, £1,763 from privileges, £1,720 from raeeeards, and £l,lOB from members 5 subscriptions and entrance fees. The gross totalisator receipts amounted to £27,754. In wages. £1,701 was paid, in salaries, £1,386, ; and interest £3,905. The Ota huh u property account, apart from the £3OOO written down, showed a loss of £852. On the club's property at Alexandra Park £.1,590 had been allowed for de predation. In the bank at fixed deposit was £10,050, compared with £3,029 a year ago. The current account stood at £590, against £2,899*. and . sundry creditors had been reduced from £1,680 to £953. benturcs £OO,OOO and mortgage on the Otahuhu property, £14,000. For the? seven vacant seats on the committee, Messrs A. J. Court, G. Hodg son, C. V. Mark, K. Rutherford, A. Twiname, Norman Wade and R. Wright (retiring members) and T. McColl have been nominated, and an election is necessary. There are eight vacant seats on the stewards and Messrs 'G, W. IT Bull, S. Davenport, R. Gibson, C. Macfarquhar, W, W. Massey, M.P., A. E. Murphy, K. Rutherford and J. W. Russell, making the requisite number, have been nominated.
