A few mushrooms were sent to market this week. Cabbage and cauliflower are plentiful, but good lettuce is hard to get. A drop took place in the price of eggs this week, although supplies of ' duck are very short. Prices vary considerably in different establishments. Quotations are: — Fresh hen and duck eggs, from 1/4 to 1/8 per dozen. Bacon, in cuts, 64d to 10d per lb; rashers, 9d to 1/; whole hams, 1/ per lb; rashers, 1/2. First grade factory butter, 1/2 per lb, cash across the counter, Id extra when booked; second grade, 1/ per lb; farmers.,’ butter, lOd per lb. Cheese, mild, full cream, 9d to 1/; medium matured, 1/2 to 1/3. Apples, dessert, 3d to 4d per lb; cookers, 2d. Island oranges, 2/ per dozen. Mandarins, 1/6 to 2/ per doz. Californian oranges, 3/ per dozen. New Zealand navel oranges, 1/6 per dozen. Lemons, 1/ per dozen. Tomatogs, hothouse, 1/ per lb; Island tomatoes, lOd per lb; tree tomatoes, 4d to 5d per lb. Bananas, 3d to 4d per lb. Pears, 3d to 4d per lb; cookers, 3d per lb. Passionfruit, 1/ per dozen. Californian grapefruit, 4d to 5d each. New Zealand grapefruit, 6 to 8 per 1/-. Poorman oranges, 8d to 1/ per dozen. Californian apricots, 1/4 to 1/6 per lb. Californian cherries, 1/6 to 1/8 per lb. Californian plums, 1/ per lb. Potatoes, new, 3d per lb; Southern, lOlbs for 1/-. Swedes, Id per lb. Pumpkin, Id per lb. Onions, IJd per lb. Kumeras, 2d per lb. Rhubarb, 2d to 4d per bundle. Lettuce, IJd to 3d each. Cabbage, 4d to 6d. Cauliflower, 4d to 7d each.
