OBITUARY
MR C. RASMUSSEN. A familiar figure in Whangarei for many years has been removed by the death of Air Christen Rasmussen, who passed away suddenly at the District. Hospital this morning, at the age of 7ft rears.
A native of Denmark, Mr Rasmussen came out to New Zealand many years ago, landing in Akaroa. He followed the sea, and for many years was a fisherman. After spending some time at Akaroa, he moved to Stratford, where he married Miss Marion Mabel Hewer, who was also of Akaroa. That was 36 years ago. Air and Mrs Rasmussen then moved to Havelock Sound, where Mr Rasmussen again followed the calling' of a: fisherman.. They remained there until the outbreak of war, when Air Rasmussen joined up in the home service at Wellington. When he was demobilised, Airs Rasmussen and he came North and settled in Whangarei, where Air Rasmussen was a very well known and popular fisherman for many years. About three years ago, he was given a post as wharfinger for the Harbour Board at One Tree Point, a post which he held until his death. Air Rasmussen is survived by Airs Rasmussen, and there is one living daughter, Airs W. G. Watson, of Deep Creek, Alarlborough.

The death has occurred of Mr Clive Lord, director of the Tasmanian Museum, and local honorary secretary for Tasmania of the Australian and New Zealand Association for the Advancement of Science. ME HAEOLD HEALY. SYDNEY, July 20. The death is announced of Mr Harold Healy, Sydney manager of the “Pastoral Review,” aged 60.
